                                        Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Possibly the most valuable aspect of our community is our shared friendship and support. Neighbors Helping Neighbors is about providing resources to ease the transition to a new community and to strengthen neighbor to neighbor bonds. This includes:
  • Resources for ways to support each other in times of need
  • Names of recommended local vendors and merchants
  • Some practical tips for setting up household
  • Local volunteer resources in Trilogy and beyond
The internet tool Meal Train is a proven resource for helping neighbors in times of need. If you haven’t used it before, it is an easy way to organize a calendar for a family or individual needing help during a challenging life event – illness, surgery, etc. The free version can be used to set up and maintain a calendar for providing meals, allowing easy online access for inviting others to participate and keeping track of food preferences, allergies, etc. For a fee, a more advanced version allows tracking of multiple channels of support in addition to meals: providing transportation, running errands or dog walking.
The Meal Train is typically organized by friends or neighbors. We are finding it may be helpful to have a list of “on call” volunteers to help those who are brand new to the community and haven’t yet built their network of friends. If you are willing to be a Meal Train volunteer for new Trilogy residents or if you know of a new resident in need of assistance, a signup sheet will be available at the Newcomers’ table at the Tuesday Happy Hour at the Mita Club.
